IMAGINING THE COSMOS
A discussion at the intersection of art and science
For centuries, the mystery of the origin of the universe has appealed to the imagination in art, religion and mythology. Since the revolutionary work of the Leuven professor Georges Lemaître, father of the Big Bang theory, modern cosmology has continued to offer ever deeper physical insights into the origin of the cosmos. The Leuven city festival BANG! sets out to explore all these perspectives with – among other things – two exciting exhibitions: 'Imagining the Universe' and 'To the Edge of Time'.
The exhibition curators, the keeper of the science collections of the London Science Museum and the director of Princeton´s Institute for Advanced Study will exchange views in a conversation at the interface of art and science.
